The Restaurant
Built and
transformed from beautiful Victorian remains in 2002, the build structure of 'Milan'
is impressive. Large box bay windows ensure great views of the canal, while parking
is discreet and to the rear. The responsibility of the interior was left in the
capable hands of Richard Chadwick Associates - Award Winning Interior Designers to
the Leisure industry. Care has been taken with the interior design to ensure the restaurant 'Milan' that covers two storeys becomes 'One Floor' by
introducing a viewing gallery to the first floor, allowing diners on the 'First' to
view diners on the 'Ground' and visa versa. The whole seating plan is pulled together
with the clever use of a mid grand piano that can be heard and viewed by all. Warm
earth colours create an inviting backdrop, enhanced by natural wood and exposed
brick. Pitched ceiling and large drop windows, Art, sculpture and music adds further
interest, yet a glance at the impeccably laid tables gives a hint of the excellence
to follow.
The Kitchen
A fascinating place at the start of
the day, large bowls of proving bread dough, sinks of ice holding the fresh catch of
the day, tables floured and prepared to roll and cut fresh pasta, baskets of wild
mushrooms ready for trimming. Head Chef testing, tasting and seasoning.
At night, the kitchen transforms into something far more hectic.
As the orders start to flood in the creative culinary process kicks into play, the
day's labour becomes plate after plate of exquisite and mouth watering food.
Preparation is half the battle, the victory is in the final taste.
